Kanye West: 'People look at me like I'm Hitler'

As Kanye West was performing at the U.K.’s Big Chill Music Festival on Saturday, the outspoken rapper took to the stage for one of his signature rants, reports Gossip Cop.

"I walk through the hotel and I walk down the street, and people look at me like I'm f-–n' insane, like I'm Hitler," he lamented to the audience at the end of a monologue.

But all is apparently not lost: "One day the light will shine through and one day people will understand everything I ever did," he added. In response to this revelation, West received not enlightened cheers, but boos from the crowd.

The rapper also defended his “Monster” music video, which was lambasted for its portrayal of women. "Who saw the video before it got banned, before they took it down and before women's groups starting saying that a person that lost the most important woman in his life is now against women in some way?" asked West, referring to his mother’s 2007 death.

"[The video] was really artistic but once again it was thrown in the misogynistic box because they couldn't understand how a rapper could have the taste and sensibility high enough to do something like that without it being misogynistic,” West explained. “And once again, I wake up and I'm a monster."

Hitler wasn’t the only figure Kanye compared himself to. The star also sees a similarity between himself and a different type of icon: "Michael Jordan changed so much in basketball. He took his power to make a difference and so much bull- going on in music right now and somebody has to make a f--n' difference. On with the show.”
