Looking back on the last twelve months, we think it's pretty safe to say that hip-hop had one hell of a year. Jay-Z and Kanye West had us all watching "the Throne." Lil Wayne came back onto the scene. Nicki Minaj used her momentum from 2010 to turn herself into an international superstar. Mac Miller delivered hope and promise for the new generation of rappers. T.I. got out of jail. J. Cole came through with a solid debut. Drake followed up his with a strong sophomore album. Rick Ross survived a near-death experience. And, hell, Young Jeezy got a release date—and actually stuck to it! No disappointments here...
Er, okay. We won't go that far. We were satisfied with a lot of rappers in 2011, but that doesn't mean that they all came through this year. In fact, just like in 2010, there were a handful of MCs who were downright disappointing in 2011. For some, it took a single action to change the way we felt about them this year. For others, it was a string of events. But, regardless of how they did it, one thing was for sure: These were the 10 most disappointing rappers of 2011. Better luck next year, guys.
