The long and tumultuous relationship
between Death Row Records co-founders Suge Knight and Dr. Dre now
includes another serious story. Suge is now accusing Dre of conspiring
to have him killed.
TMZ
reports Knight’s lawyer Thaddeus Culpepper has filed legal documents
claiming the person that shot his client at West Hollywood’s 1 OAK in
2014 was hired by Dre. The gunman allegedly confessed the legendary
producer paid him and a friend $50,000 to carry out the hit.
The docs also include accusations that
Los Angeles Sheriff’s Deputy Henry Boyd purposely allowed the shooter
into the club and the Sheriff’s Department released the shooter from
custody. Boyd was later questioned about the incident before resigning
from the department. There is allegedly surveillance video
of Boyd letting the accused shooter into 1 Oak moments before Knight was
shot. In addition, Culpepper is said to have video from LAX airport
which supposedly shows Boyd helping the gunman flee the country. Knight was shot during a Pre-VMA party
hosted by Chris Brown. There were rumors at the time that Brown may
have been the attended target, but the Sheriff’s Department confirmed
the shooter was aiming for Suge.
As of press time, Dr. Dre has not
publicly addressed Suge Knight’s allegations that he hired a hitman with
the intent of having Knight killed.
